Skating surrounded by mountains, amid playful lights and enchanting atmospheres: that is the promise of Ice Magic Innsbruck, the new event making its debut this winter on central Landhausplatz. The highlight is an atmospheric ice trail, with curves and winding routes where adults and children can enjoy skating in a truly special setting. Spectacular light installations, evenings with music and DJ sets, and the unmissable culinary specialities served from characteristic wooden huts make the experience even more engaging. An opportunity to discover a new side of the city, combining fun, flavours and winter magic.

2. Airdrenaline: spectacular tricks and hip-hop music at Bergisel (27–28 November 2026)

Sport, adrenaline, breathtaking acrobatics and live music: at the end of November, the celebrated Bergisel ski jump is set to become the stage for one of Innsbruck’s most spectacular winter events. Under the motto «Big Air is coming home», Airdrenaline brings the world’s finest freeski and snowboard athletes to the Tyrolean capital, pairing sporting competitions with a musical programme dedicated to the German-speaking hip-hop scene. Around 160 athletes are expected for the opening FIS World Cup event, while the stage will welcome some of the rap scene’s best-known names, including K.I.Z. Two days devoted to spectacle, transforming a sporting competition into a major entertainment event.

3. Winter Deaflympics: international sport returns to its roots (15–24 January 2027)

Almost eighty years after the first winter edition, the Winter Deaflympics return to Innsbruck and Seefeld, bringing back to Tyrol one of the most important international sporting events for deaf athletes. The twenty-first edition will see competitors from around the world contest seven disciplines, including ice hockey, curling, chess and futsal, with several competitions hosted in the Tyrolean capital itself. An event that goes beyond competition to celebrate the universal values of sport, inclusion and sharing, offering spectators the opportunity to watch outstanding performances.

4. Innsbruck Winter Dance Festival: great dance meets art (29 January – 28 February 2027)

For the fourth consecutive year, Innsbruck becomes an international stage dedicated to contemporary dance through the Innsbruck Winter Dance Festival, bringing productions of striking artistic and spectacular impact to the city. Among the most eagerly awaited events is «Viva la Vida – A Tribute to Frida Kahlo», returning to Innsbruck after eight years, alongside the new production «Maria Magdalena». One of this edition’s major innovations will make the experience even more engaging: an innovative 270-degree stage installed in the Dogana hall, designed to bring spectators closer to the artists and offer an immersive perspective on the performances.

In February 2027, Igls, on Innsbruck’s doorstep, will host an unprecedented event: for the first time, the artificial-track and natural-track (Alpinrodeln) World Luge Championships will take place simultaneously in the same location. Two exceptional tracks will provide the setting: Igls’ renovated Olympic track, a symbol of Tyrolean sporting tradition, and a new course built in the area of the historic Heiligwasser track. Alongside contests between the world’s finest athletes, an extensive programme of events and entertainment will turn the championship gathering into a major celebration of winter sports.
